death of John Updike today at age 76

CNN has just reported the death of novelist and essayist John Updike earlier today of cancer. Â He was 76. Â I’ve had Rabbit, Run on my list for awhile but haven’t read it. Â Please feel free to share remembrances or comments about his work.

UPDATE: Â The NY Times has posted a thoughtful interview with Updike from last October. Â Video is just under 8 minutes and well worth watching.
