History of a favorite book cover

The Short Day DyingBook Club B members–and anyone else who was as captivated as we–Seasonal Soundings has posted about the history of that gorgeous painting used for the cover of The Short Day Dying. Remember our disappointment in book club that the artist and title are not identified in the book? Turns out it’s called “The Angelus” by Jean Francois Millet. That image and the possible stories it encompassed is what drew me to pick up the book at Barnes & Noble.

If you missed the discussion on this intense little book, read my posts here and here.
