CNN.com reports that Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz, the only writer in Arabic to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, died on Wednesday. I had never heard of him until now, though I have long had an interest in stories set in Cairo. Would someone who has read his work leave a comment?
