The shortlist for the 2006 Man Booker Prize for fiction was announced this week. The six titles up for grand prize are:

Hyland, M.J.: Carry Me Down
Matar, Hisham: In the Country of Men
St Aubyn, Edward: Mother’s Milk
Waters, Sarah: The Night Watch
