A general malaise (probably the annual spring sinusitis), observances and activities of Holy Week, and the birth of yet another niece (making two in the last month!) have overthrown my writing schedule recently. I’ve been reading, just not writing about it! At least five books are sitting beside me waiting to be reviewed on this blog, including two of the titles on my Festival of Faith & Writing shortlist: Carlos Eire’s Waiting for Snow in Havana and Mischa Berlinksi’s Fieldwork. I plan to get those reviews posted in due time. These days I’m balancing that reading list with the research I’m doing for History Lives 5, and I still have quite a few books to go to meet my goal; after I finish my writing work today, I plan to start Elizabeth Strout’s Abide with Me.
