Clippings 6

Apologies for my silence, friends. I’ve been mostly unplugged for the last week, busy planning a 60th anniversary party for my grandparents (held on Sunday and it was lovely) and proofing the galleys of History Lives 4 (going to press very soon). I also read an unusual and hard-to-assess novel, and will post a review here by the end of the week. In other news…

I have been nominated for the Bloggers’ Choice Awards in the “Best Religion Blog” category. Ok, so it was hubby who nominated me, but it’s just like him to be so affirming! Since there is no “Best Literature Blog” category (who missed that one?), I’ll take it. I won’t win, of course, but it’s depressing to flounder around in the giant sea of one-vote blogs trying to surface for a gulp of air, so bump me up a vote, would you? Click on the button in my sidebar (painless registration required to keep the voting legit).

My friend Ros has reinvented her blog, Conversational Theology, and one of her first posts there is a thought-provoking review of Becoming Jane, the recent film about Jane Austen. She would love to discuss it with you.

Finally, who is going to the 2007 National Book Festival in DC on September 29?!
