Lit and Run

This is a “lit-and-run” post. I’ve been too busy to write much lately, but I hate being away from blogging.  So I’m here just long enough to say:

If you haven’t heard about Timothy’s Schaffert’s novel The Coffins of Little Hope, releasing Tuesday by Unbridled Books, read more about it in my latest “Look for It” post over at The Discarded Image, where I am fiction reviews editor.

Are you celebrating National Poetry Month?  Today is “Poem in Your Pocket” day and I haven’t been able to settle on just ONE poem to carry around!

Winspear_signing_Mar312011And fellow Maisie fans, have you read the latest?  I picked up a signed copy of A Lesson in Secrets (Maisie Dobbs #8) at Nicola’s Books in Ann Arbor, MI, on March 31, where I got to chat briefly with Maisie creator Jacqueline Winspear (captured here by my husband’s phone) after she addressed a crowd of at least 100 people.  Each new Maisie book strikes me as the best yet, and this one was no exception.  I sent it off to my sister as soon as I finished it, and after reading it the day it arrived, she declared, “I want to be Maisie Dobbs when I grow up.”  Me, too.

What bookish events are keeping you busy lately?
