When it rains, it pours.  I’m always adding titles to my library hold list; sometimes I’m #1 and sometimes I’m #41.  If you’re a library reserver, have you noticed how, no matter what number you are, there’s no telling how long it will be before the book gets reserved for you?  After a few weeks of drought, I suddenly have 4 books ready (reserved at quite a range of times):  Brady Udall’s The Lonely Protagonist, Jerome Charyn’s The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson, Meghan Daum’s Life Would be Perfect if I Lived in That House, and Steig Larsson’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (I’ll be finishing this one today and undecided about whether to review).  Thankfully, all are 4-week checkouts with renew options (often, those lended through a neighboring library don’t allow renewals).

In the meantime, I’m anxious to get started on two books I got while on vacation in August:  Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error by Kathryn Schulz and Absence of Mind by Marilynne Robinson.  I’m still working on John Polkinghorne’s Theology in the Context of Science, and I recently finished A S Byatt’s A Whistling Woman (my intro to her work, which has convinced me to add her to my “deep reading” project).

What are you reading?
